This guidebook is designed to assist British Columbia forest and range managers in developing range use plans, planning and building Crown range fences, and controlling noxious weeds. The first section describes the requirements for public consultation and advertising of plan content, and provides examples of the information regarding range use to be included in range use plans. The second section includes specifications for range fences and requirements for referrals and authorization. The third section outlines measures to prevent establishment of noxious weeds in areas where they presently do not occur. An appendix includes descriptions of range use strategies, a list of scientific and common names of grasses, a table of general guidelines for use of grasses, a sample calculation of the seral stage and rate of recovery of a plant community, a sample range use plan, and a glossary.
