Rosier's Find circumstances in the antechamber, a new production for this, the artist's first solo exhibition in a French institution, is made up of a film shot in the Burgundy house that has been in her family for four generations... The pages of her artist's book, an integral part of the exhibition, are no exception to Rosier's method. The artist has purloined a series of passages from English writer Ann Radcliffe's Gothic novel A Sicilian Romance (1790), splicing together incongruous parts to resemble a single narrative whole. To it Rosier has added her own illustrations: that these photographs look as if they might just serve to illustrate a novel for which they were not actually made only serves to make the deception more complicated.
