This access card provides the necessary digital infrastructure for students to engage with the audio components of the American Popular Music curriculum. The authors, Larry Starr and Christopher Alan Waterman, are established scholars in the field of musicology who designed this resource to accompany their comprehensive textbook. By providing sixty curated musical selections in MP3 format, the resource facilitates a direct auditory connection to the historical and stylistic developments discussed in the primary text.

Instructors and students frequently utilize this resource as a standard supplement to the core textbook for classroom listening assignments. Experts note that the digital format provides a convenient method for accessing historical recordings in a classroom or study environment.
