This kit is a pictorial/manipulative link to understanding the abstract procedures of solving linear equations, including a laminated 11 x 17 illustration of a balance, 6 yellow Algecan containers, 6 large red stickers, and 25 Two-Color Counters. The Counters represent units while the Algecans represent the unknowns. Working individually or in pairs, students can add and subtract integers and solve equations or word problems. This Kit is an ideal jumping off point for students in pre-algebra, as well as higher level algebra courses.
