Examines some of the key developments in Asia during 1985 and assesses their national, regional, or international impact. This volume points out that while much of the region is politically stable, some societies are struggling to resolve basic issues. It also discusses the fragility of current trends in Asia, as well as the new tensions created by the recent changes. Co-published with the Asia Society.
