After the 1979 attack on Vietnam the General Staff of the Chinese Army prepared a second war during 1980 and 1981. This volume has extensive copies from this file including maps and photos. Readers also get insight into what knowledge the Chinese army had on Northern Vietnam at that time. The entire book is printed on high quality paper to make the copies of the documents as realistic as possible. As many of the documents, photos and maps are in color, and reproducing them in black and white would make them difficult to read, the resulting additional cost is considered the best possible solution.
