1964 saw the TV debut of Top of the Pops, Match of the Day and Crossroads. The Beatles made their first movie and held all top five places in the US charts. Manfred Mann sang Do Wah Diddy Diddy. Movies included Dr Strangelove, Goldfinger and Mary Poppins and in boxing Cassius Clay became world champion before changing his name to Muhammad Ali.
