Through the streets of Kathmandu. In the alleys of Old Delhi, India. To the mountains of Afghanistan and Pakistan. Across the dangerous deserts of Eastern Turkey. On the beaches of Goa, India. Places where many lived as pirates. Along with adventurers, smugglers, monks, hippies and Gurus.. This is my story, how I lived it and how I saw it first hand. On the Overland Trail to Katmandu. This story is about how one's life can be moved from one path to another due to the influences of our environment and moments of opportunity in our lives. This book takes us to places that either can no longer be visited, no longer exist or have been changed by the influences of war. There was a small window in time that permitted such travels. For me it was a chance to look for the unknown and unexplained in the deepest corners of Asia. And to seek answers to my personal questions about my self. It was the era of the drug culture and the Eastern Philosophy culture. How it somehow became all mixed up into the same thing. Youth without political parties. A type of Nomad pushed by their desires to acquire knowledge. To see, what they have never seen. Feel, what they have never felt. Do, what they have never done. Ash Lingam (This book includes over 50 photographs I took on the original Overland Hippy Trail in the 1970's.)
