The Dysmorphology Photo Library is an extensive library of clinical photographs which illustrate the mental retardation and malformation syndromes described in the LDDB and LNDB. 11,230 images are captured in this Windows version, which has been updated to include new images for 2000. All the photos are accessible from LDDB and the relevant photos are accessible from LNDB. The CD-ROM includes colour photgraphs, black and white photographs, and X-rays, both from the collections of the authors and from publications cited in the databases. The Photo Library will work with versions 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 of the databases, but not with version 1.0.
This resource serves as a comprehensive visual repository designed to assist clinicians in the identification and diagnosis of mental retardation and malformation syndromes. Dr. Michael Baraitser and Robin Winter compiled this extensive collection to provide a standardized visual reference that integrates directly with the London Dysmorphology Database (LDDB) and the London Neurogenetics Database (LNDB). The work functions as a diagnostic support tool, utilizing a vast archive of clinical imagery to facilitate the recognition of rare genetic conditions.
