
This is a collection of discussions of the social, political, economic and cultural problems currently facing the major communities of colour in the USA. The book is written from a community organizing and social change perspective, each chapter focusing on a specific community. In addition, the chapter authors are members of the communities about which they write. Each gives a historical perpsective of the unique features of his or her respective community, discusses contemporary problems and issues, and proposes a future agenda and strategy for social change.
