Menrva's Summary
THE THESIS
This collection investigates how local actors and transnational movements challenged the traditional, state-centric narratives of the Cold War. Editors Fabio Lanza and Jadwiga E. Pieper Mooney compile diverse scholarly essays that shift the focus away from superpower diplomacy toward the lived experiences of individuals and grassroots organizations. By examining specific case studies across Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Europe, the authors argue that the Cold War was not merely a bipolar conflict but a multifaceted global phenomenon shaped by local agency and cultural resistance.
