This volume investigates the core developments and critical debates within seventeenth and eighteenth-century philosophy to advance contemporary understanding of the period. The editor, Michael Bergmann, curates a collection of peer-reviewed research that examines the intellectual shifts occurring from the era of Descartes through the work of Immanuel Kant. The text serves as a repository for rigorous scholarly inquiry, providing a platform for both established and emerging voices to refine historical interpretations of early modern thought.

Experts recognize this series as a primary venue for high-level research in the history of philosophy. Readers frequently note the academic density of the prose, which is intended for specialists and advanced students of intellectual history.
