The existence of large longitudinal data files concerning the incidence of chronic disease offers ideal research opportunities; however, these depend on the development of new analytical methods. This volume begins by identifying the four major characteristics of model formation. It then presents in detail individual statistical models, each illustrated with numerical examples. The emphasis is on selecting and modifying appropriate and effective analytical models.
